The Royal Jesters
Meet the Harlequins!
But first... let me tell you a little about the breed and how I got started in them!
Nicknamed "The Royal Jesters" for the way their markings resemble the pattern often seen worn by court jesters. Harlequins are very unique in the way they are judged almost solely off their color and markings instead of type. They come in two varieties known as Magpie and Japanese. Magpies are a white based rabbit with Harlequin markings in any of the 4 accepted colors. Black, chocolate, blue and lilac. Japanese are the same but with an orange base rather than white. The breed overall have a very calm and loving temperament, and are easy to handle, making them great for kids and adults alike to work with.
I specialize in magpies. But I do hope to add some Japanese in the future. I got started in them back in 2013 after seeing one for the first time at an ARBA show I attended with family. At the time I didn't own a rabbit other than a pet Mini Rex doe. But when I laid eyes on a black magpie Harlequin doe that was showing, I just had to have one! I did not bring one home that day, rather I got a Polish doe as the start to my hobby. But my first show after that I brought home my first pair of Harlequins! And have been in love with the breed ever since.

Now without further ado, let's meet the Harlies shall we?
Precious Creek's Hot Cocoa
Senior Chocolate Magpie Doe
3 GC Leg Wins
Birthdate: 1/22/18
Weight: 8.15
Sire: Heavenly Spring's Keeper of Secrets
Dam: Heavenly Spring's Lilith
The first rabbit to receive the new name Precious Creek! Hot Cocoa is one of the newer additions to the family. But quickly became a favorite here, and known by many of my fellow Harlequin breeders due to her near perfect 3-part frontal. I do wish she had cleaner body markings but hopefully our boys improve that in her offspring! We look forward to seeing what she brings to the herd in the future.

On June 16th, 2018, Hot Cocoa became my first ever home-bred animal to win Best in Show, and became one of the very few Harlequins to be honored with such a win. I could not be more proud.
Precious Creek's RootBeer Float
Senior Chocolate Magpie Buck
2 GC Leg Wins
Birthdate: 1/25/18
Weight: 7.13
Sire: Heavenly Spring's Teller of Truth
Dam: Heavenly Spring's Aquamarine
My favorite buck in the herd currently! While I do wish he took more after his mother Aqua in size and type, he has gorgeous clarity in his body markings. He is a bit one sided in markings but has very good alternations on his right side. He has a 4 part frontal, and while I wish it was a 3 part he does have some lovely front to back leg alternations! His first litter is due very soon and we look forward to seeing them!
Heavenly Spring's Meera
Senior Black Magpie Doe
2 GC Leg Wins
Birthdate: 12/25/17
Weight: 8.5
Sire: Roob's Larry
Dam: Heavenly Spring's Megaton
Meera is one of my favorites as far as clarity goes. I love how nice and intense her color is, it definitely grabs the attention of the judge when she's on the show tables! Which has led her to a couple leg wins, one being a BOB/BIS in a specialty show. She is currently bred to Toulouse for her first litter, hoping for some typey babies with her clarity of color!
Heavenly Spring's Elena Peters
Senior Black Magpie Doe
Birthdate: 10/13/17
Weight: 7.3
Sire: Heavenly Spring's Marcus
Dam: Heavenly Spring's Mayfly
Elena was in the last litter I had from my favorite buck Marcus after he passed. Part of my Friday the 13th litter, Elena is named after the main character in a lesser known horror movie called The Collection. I kept Elena due to her clean and intense color as well as being a more solid rabbit than many of my harlequins. Her first litter was absolutely gorgeous!
Heavenly Spring's Lilith
Senior Chocolate Magpie Doe
Registered. FOR SALE: $75
3 GC Legs
Birthdate: 10/13/17
Weight: 7.12
Sire: Heavenly Spring's Teller of Truth
Dam: Heavenly Spring's Kindra
Lilith and I very much have a love/hate relationship. My first really nice show quality rabbit with a pretty good and clean 3 part frontal and alternating back legs, she was undefeated with all BOB wins until National Convention came along. And now she's got 2 gorgeous babies that have been doing great for me on the tables, one being a BIS winner. But on the downside... Lilith hates me. My friend always jokes I shouldn't have named her after a demon. Oops!
Heavenly Spring's Megaton
Senior Black Magpie Doe
Registered
3 GC Legs
Birthdate: 2/14/2017
Weight: 8.8
Sire: Heavenly Spring's Marcus
Dam: Heavenly Spring's Mayfly
Part of my Valentine's day litter, Megaton is a favorite here when it comes to temperament. She is such a lover like her father was, and got his good looks too! Great clarity, intense color, her face and chest are messy but she counts as a 2 part frontal. Also she's got the most gorgeous belly, which always caught the attention of judges and fellow breeders! She did pretty well on the table in her show days earning 3 GC legs which will be sent in sometime for her grand champion cert!

Heavenly Spring's Winifred Sanderson
Senior Chocolate Magpie Doe

Birthdate: 10/31/2017
Weight: ???
Sire: Roob's Larry
Dam: Heavenly Spring's Kindra

One of my Halloween born babies from my Hocus Pocus themed litter! There was 3 does in this litter so obviously they HAD to be named after the Sanderson sisters. Winifred got to stay for her clean color and strong facesplit, and while messy her chest marking does alternate with her face! Sadly Wini developed a minor case of Wry Neck at 3 months and never got to see the show table. But she has made a fantastic brood doe!
